Most students during BE tend to use some GUI based editor aka Notepad or some IDE. I used Visual Studio which was well just notepad which allowed syntax highlighting. On Linux I used VI like notepad which was obviously no different. A good friend of mine absolutely insisted that if i call myself a programmer i shouldn't commit the sin of using these GUI based inefficient and slow editors. He has become a wizard of some sorts(and now fanatic proponent of Vi) and demoed me the other day the power of Vi. I was absolutely wonder struck.
